BENEFITS OF JOINING
There are many benefits to becoming a member of our organization.
Gain and share knowledge. We are an informal group and we have a great time when we get together. Of course we also have a common interest, Woodturning, and we encourage you to share your skills and knowledge with us and we will do the same. Visit one of our monthly meetings (we meet the 2nd Monday of each month) and find out what we are all about.
Learn how to use a lathe and turn wood. And spin it and cut it and make beautiful things out of wood. We own 12 lathes of different sizes and manufactures and have open turning sessions on every Saturday morning from 8:30 am until noon, every Wednesday evening (except the 3rd Wednesday) from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, and every Thursday evening from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. Experienced members are usually on hand to answer questions and offer help.
Save money with our Sponsors. By being a member you get a 10% discount from Woodcraft in Lenexa, KS, Schutte Lumber in Kansas City, MO. and Metro Hardwoods in Independence, MO.
See how the experts do it! We are committed to having nationally known Woodturners in to demonstrate for us. We will attempt to have one as often as scheduling permits. There will be a modest fee for these programs. Members and non-members are welcome to attend.
We meet on the 2nd Monday of each month @7:00 at:

NEW CLUBHOUSE in 2024:
Most of you know that the last day of our lease at the 3189 Mercier address is April 2024. The KC Woodworkers Guild has signed a new lease for a building in the Crossroads District at 1717 Washington Street. We will be moving in early next year but, first, we need to install some walls, ceiling and electricity. The KC Woodturners 2024 annual dues are going to increase to $150 per household. The new building rent is twice the amount of our present building rent. That is how the economy has changed in the last eight years, since we moved into our present building. Our dues money should get us a nice new shop and commons area. The building is in a safe area in the Crossroads District and we will be looking into taking advantage of the First Friday event at the Crossroads District. To see a photo new clubhouse: Click Here.
