MEETINGS and COVID-19:
The City of KCMO mask mandate for meetings is no longer in effect. You may still wear a mask if you like. We will also continue to Zoom the meeting to those members that don't feel comfortable at an in-person meeting or just can't attend the meeting in person. The Zoom details will be emailed to members the week before the meeting.
October 9th Regular Meeting. KC Woodturner member Don Frank will be our demonstrator this month. He will talk about using dessicant beads to dry your wet woodturnings much quicker than the normal air drying or bagged with wood shavings methods. October 9th Challenge: Turn something using a skew. You can turn a sample bead and cove practice piece if you like.
FUTURE MEETING DEMOS: Watch this space. The demo will probably be Holiday related, like turning a simple tree ornament.
December 11th Regular Meeting. Annual Holiday Party. RSVP. All members and families are invited to this event. Your club will provide sandwiches (beef, ham, turkey) with all the fixins including wine and soft drinks. Members bring salad and/or dessert. There will be a voluntary team turning event. There will be a voluntary woodturned gift exchange: bring a gift and get a gift. Bring something hand turned that you would like to receive.
OPEN TURNING: NOTE The City of KCMO mask mandate for meetings is no longer in effect. Saturday Morning Open Turning Open every Saturday morning 8:30am-noon.
Wednesday Evening Open Turning Open every Wednesday evening 6:00pm-9:00pm except 3rd Wednesday (Guild Meeting).
Thursday Evening Open Turning Open every Thursday evening 6:00pm-9:00pm.
October 28th, 2023. Ball and Cup Game Class: Taught by KC Woodturner Mike Erickson. This 3-hour class will be held on Saturday, October 28th from 1:00pm-4:00pm and will cost $50.00 per person. The class is limited to 8 students. To view the class description: Click Here.

November 11th (Sat)
10:00am-12:00pm Clubhouse Lathe Room Cleanup: Will start cleaning at 10:00am. Volunteers requested. No turning until the room is clean. Turning will resume when finished. Cleaning usually takes 2 hours or less.
